- Break up into your groups and build a script to role play where the sponsor is adamant about making a change to the requirements of your IT project that will not provide any benefit and slow down the timeline. Divide up the roles in the group so that you have a sponsor, a Business Analyst and other stakeholders.
- Have at least one stakeholder agree with the sponsor while the others agree with the Business Analyst.
- Make sure the stakeholder that agrees with the sponsor has a reputation of being stubborn wanting their results no matter the cost.
- Roleplay your scenario in your group once for practice and the present it to the class.
- Be prepared to answer questions from the audience.
- Based on your list of stakeholders, match a communication style with each stakeholder.
- Be sure to describe the level of detail, frequency, how the content is delivered, (text, visual aids, link, video, FAQs, etc).
- Describe the expectations and how you plan on addressing any negative expectations.
- In your group, write a one-page code of ethics that a Business Analyst needs to follow.
- Include in you document personal accountability, trustworthiness, organization of content, and time management.
