Paul steals an expensive watch from the local jewelry store. He knows that Ken needs a watch. At the time Paul stole the watch, he intended to sell it to Ken. As he is leaving the jewelry store, he is apprehended by police. Paul begs for mercy. He states that he has an agreement to sell any watch that he may steal to Ken. The police tell Paul that if he cooperates, his sentence will be lighter. They give the watch back to Paul. Paul meets Ken and shows Ken the watch. Paul tells Ken the watch is stolen. Ken buys the watch.

Could Ken be convicted of receiving stolen property? Is Paul guilty of larceny? Explain your reasoning

In this scenario yes Ken could be convicted of the offense for receiving stolen property. He was informed by Paul that the watch was stolen and still purchased the watch anyway. Even though Paul didn’t tell him everything it was still wrong and against the law to purchase the watch. The charges for Paul depend on the amount of jewelry stolen, but yes Paul is guilty of larceny because of the theft of the watch in the first place.

I do vote every election. Local voting is very important to me because it can directly affect the are where I live. Voting in the presidential election is also important to me because I feel that in order to have an opinion, or take a stance, you would first have to choose a side. I could not see a reason that I would stop voting. The few issues that I hold near and dear are important enough to fight for and if I didnt vote, I could be leaving that in someone elses control.
