Prior to beginning work on this week’s discussion, please read Chapter 6: Dietary Behavior Change, Chapter 7: Physical Activity Behavior, Chapter 9: Addressing Tobacco Use and Dependence, and Chapter 11: Reducing Stress to Improve Health in Riekert, Ockene, and Pbert (2018).

In the Health and Wellness field, informational brochures are used to educate clients about health risks and diseases. For this week’s discussion, you will create a visually appealing health brochure in Microsoft Word for the fictitious client you created in the “Client Avatar” discussion. Attach your brochure to your initial post and be sure to include the following required elements.

Education: Provide a general overview of the client’s health risks and/or disease, including prevalence rates, symptoms, and psychosocial factors that increase risk. Explain how client’s health issue affects the body and overall health and wellness. You may choose to create diagrams, figures, charts, body outlines, multimedia to relate this information to the client.

Supportive Strategies: Share strategies for behavior change, including exams, tests, and treatment options (home, cultural, and/or medical). Be cognizant of the client’s culture, and any physical, social and/or economic barriers that the client may have. Provide one local and web-based resource, and instruct the client when to call for help. Include hyperlinks, if such exist for your resources.

Benefits: Describe how behavior change can be useful in reducing the client’s symptoms and risk. Support your response with at least one peer-reviewed articles from the university library.

Include two scholarly references in APA format for any information and resources included in the brochure.
