I. Observation:

1, Using Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development, observe an infant or toddler and relate the sensorimotor and preoperational stages to the child’s behavior. Make use of Piaget’s tasks at each of the two stages (i.e., object permanence, assimilation, etc…) Discuss these at length.

You may observe a child whom you know, or you can go to the Midland College Child Development Center or Manor Park Child Development Center to observe. If this is not feasible, discuss in detail Piaget’s first two stages.

The child still wears pull ups. The child’s physical needs have always been met, but due to the mother’s emotional instability, the child’s emotional needs are never addressed. Using the research presented in the book and other sources. Discuss in detail your assessment of little Jordan. Can anything be done to remedy the situation? If so, what?
